“Bringing together two exceptional teams to assist institutional investors to gain quality exposure to the renewable energy industry”

AREAM LONDON

A unique investment opportunity

The European renewable energy industry is transitioning from a widespread construction phase underpinned by the substantial incentive schemes proposed by most European governments to a phase characterised by consolidation and M&A activities. This allows industry experts to seize opportunities to acquire assets and  drive returns by applying an analytical and rigorous investment approach.

Investment approach

Value can  be created through four main drivers:

  • Consolidation

  • Performance improvement

  • Economies of scale

  • Re-financing

INVESTMENT STRATEGY
INVESTMENT STRATEGY

AREAM Group’s investment strategy is to provide stable cash returns from real assets to institutional investors, which it is has been able to deliver both through construction of new assets and through the acquisition and subsequent optimisation of operational ones. It currently holds a portfolio of PV and wind assets of over 250 MW in Italy, Germany and Spain.

Renewables: from construction to consolidation

The renewable energy industry is transitioning towards a consolidation phase: many non-specialist investors are now looking to exit their investments, creating an opportunity for specialised industry players. Although this trend has already been evident for larger assets, a large quota of the installed capacity in each country remains fragmented and in the hands of private individuals and/or small investors who lack the skills and know-how to optimise these assets.

Opportunities arise for industry specialists

Industry experts can acquire and fully optimise the performance of each asset, unlocking further value through the deployment of their expertise and economies of scale.

The path to higher returns: expertise and consolidation

Industry specialists can create value through:

  • Consolidation and internalisation of asset management activities

  • Maximisation of revenue and reduction of operational costs through the renegotiation of O&M and PPA contracts

  • Renegotiation of financing contracts to achieve better terms and consolidation of debt structure
